Rest in peace, Maurice Sendak.
You were one of the biggest influences in my life and helped me discover the arts.
Your works of creatures - the bizarre monsters and talking beasts - inspired me in a way that no one else in the art world has.
Because of you, I wanted to be an artist when I grew up.
Because of you, I wanted to write and illustrate books for kids (or anyone else who would read them).
And it just breaks my heart that the day after a long journey that ended with me remembering that this is what I set out to do, we must say goodbye to such an amazing person.

I'm closing commissions, I am very very sorry.
Speaking of medical crazy in my last journal, I got a frantic call from my sister last night and made it to her just in time to ride with her in the ambulance to the ER. I'd like to say she's okay but honestly, I have no idea. She is still in excruciating pain and there is nothing that they can do for her except load her up on pain killers. So, I need to worry about helping her and keeping watch over her - fortunately she was finally able to sleep.
Thank you for your understanding. Everyone who hasn't gotten art yet, I will be noting immediately.
